Gwen Guthrie - Padlock (Larry Levan Mix)

Bit of disco boogie dub steez coming from the power duo of Gwen Guthrie and legendary dance producer Larry Levan. Perfect for the late night groovers.

GrooveMan In the Place

Last night Jazzy sport's GrooveMan Spot had the people dancing. Super Steez.

A massive show in Auckland on friday with The Turnaround and The Electric Wire Husstle, Follwed by a very tasty, nice and long set in Wellington with DJ support from The Flava Family, Jewel School and Cian. Thanks to The Jewel School,Radio Active and Cian for making it happen.

Zz zz omby dubs.

as far as I know, these are unreleased. Some clever blighter has stuck them on youtube for us to all enjoy. A couple are from zomby's own youtube channel, others look like they were ripped off the radio fanstyle. Slot these into the zomby canon somewhere between the hyperdub ep and one foot ahead of the other. Tohally fockin' mental. innit. I saw the need to post em all coz they are just that good.

Black Keys x Damon Dash - Black Roc

An interesting prospect...

I've always taken caution when Hip Hop meets Rock. When its done well you end up with something like Public Enemy or Run D, but most of the time it comes off wrong and you end up with something like Kid Rock or Limp Bizkit (I ain't gonna lie I was bumpin that shit when I was 12). So here we have The Black Keys teaming up with Mos Def (who has always been on a bit of a rock tip with Rock'n'Roll and his New Danger alum) & Jim Jones with direction from Damon Dash and few teasers in the video clip with Q-Tip, Pharoah Monch,Raekwon and the RZA (and more). Don't fret I know this is gonna be a million times better than Chocolate Starfish & The Hotdog Flavoured Water.

The Black Keys feat. Mos Def & Jim Jones - Hoochie Coo

props to vinylmeltdown for the heads up

Alex Goose - The Blueprint 3 Outtakes

Ok, not sure what the deal is here, but an A&R got in touch with this kid, and he ended up submitting some beats. (Not) suprisingly, none of the beats were used, and this guy posts them up on his site so the world can download for free.

Not really outtakes, as Jigga never actually spit on them, but whatever

Anyway, check it for yourself....

Survival Skills

So was chatting to a homie yesterday and he put me onto the new KRS1 and Buckshot Album "survival skills"(props to CEAP1 for the heads up)
Thought I would Share my favorite one featuring Marry J on the hook, Dam I love When Marry sings the hook...

KRS-One & Buckshot - The Way I LIve feat Mary J. Blige (Produced by Black Milk)

Download

Anthem, period. The production on this joint is fantastic and Mary J. proves again that she’s one of the best to do this Hip-Hop hook thing. KRS literally destroys this song with his insightful lyrics and inspiring flow. Hell, this may be my new alarm in the morning. This is one of the best songs I’ve heard this year. If this one doesn’t make radio, all the execs need to be fired. Sometimes, things are ready for the radio because they NEED to be heard, not because they are designed to be played on the air.
